![]() In terms of nutritional value, tarragon, and thyme have comparable levels of vitamins and minerals: Both are high in dietary fiber and contain vitamins A, C, E, and K iron calcium potassium magnesium copper manganese zinc phosphorus and selenium. ![]() Tarragon also has the added advantage of being available year-round, unlike fresh thyme which is only seasonally available. This substitution makes sense because both herbs have a similar flavor profile, with tarragon having a slightly more pronounced anise flavor than thyme. Tarragon is an aromatic herb often used as a substitute for thyme in various recipes. As such, when substituting one herb for another you may want to reduce your measurements slightly so as not to drown out other ingredients with too much forceful flavoring from either side! 5. It’s important to keep in mind that one teaspoon of dried rosemary is approximately equal to three times more than what would normally be called for if using fresh thyme leaves instead (i.e., 1/2 teaspoon vs 3 teaspoons). In addition to its culinary uses, Rosemary possesses anti-inflammatory properties which make it beneficial for treating headaches and muscle aches due to its high levels of rosmarinic acid which helps reduce inflammation caused by arthritis or other chronic health conditions like fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis Its flavor can also stand up to beef, lamb, root vegetables, potatoes, and tomatoes. It pairs well with poultry and pork and is especially delicious when combined with olives or other Mediterranean ingredients like balsamic vinegar and garlic. Rosemary has an intense, woody aroma with resinous tones that add complexity to dishes. The delicate flavor combines well with fish such as cod, salmon, or trout poultry such as chicken beef pork vegetables including tomatoes & mushrooms legumes like beans & lentils grains including couscous & quinoa – all adding depth of flavor when substituting thyme for parsley so you don’t have to compromise on taste either! In particular, the high vitamin C content helps to boost immunity and the iron content is essential for transporting oxygen throughout the body via red blood cells. Parsley is rich in vitamins A, C, K, folate, magnesium, calcium, and iron-all key nutrients for optimal health. Parsley’s nutritional value makes it especially attractive as a substitution when cooking. It works especially well to season lighter foods like fish, eggs, salads, dressings, and vegetable side dishes because it isn’t overpowering nor does it need a long cooking time as thyme does fresh parsley is typically added to these types of dishes at the last minute in order to retain its bright green color and grassy taste. Parsley can often provide the same level of complexity as thyme while still retaining its own unique flavor profile. You may need to reduce other seasonings accordingly when using either of those two herbs as substitutes. When substituting one of those herbs for thyme, be sure to do so in moderation because they tend to have a stronger taste than thyme does. Thyme has an earthy, slightly minty flavor with a woodsy aroma that falls into the same flavor range as marjoram and oregano. When choosing a substitute for thyme, the most important factor to consider is the flavor profile. How To Choose the Best Substitute for Thyme? In addition to being an ingredient commonly found in recipes such as stuffings, roasted poultry, and fish dishes, baked goods like pies and cakes also rely on thyme’s earthy notes to achieve the desired balance between sweet and savory flavors. If you’d like to try something new with thyme (and more inventive!), you could also add it to grilled vegetables for a burst of flavor or combine it with olive oil for roasted potatoes or baking bread this method makes excellent use of all the essences found in this versatile plant. Because its aroma teases our taste buds, thyme is often incorporated into marinades, stews, soups, and slow-cooked meats. ![]() ![]() It can be added during the cooking process or sprinkled on top as a finishing touch - either way, will give your dish an extra level of flavor. Thyme is one of the most popular herbs used in cooking. ![]()

![]() In the world filled with alternative microcontrollers that simply work with PlatformIO or Arduino IDE, Raspberry Pi Pico SDK falls really short. To make the process more complicated, it’s not a case of installing one thing and just rolling with it. ![]() ![]() I carefully followed official instructions but I run into errors. I spent a couple of hours trying to figure out what is the correct process of setting up SDK for C/C++ on my Windows machine. Here is a sample off LED library from benevpi/pico_python_ws2812b:Īnd you are ready to take on the world with MicroPhyton and Raspberry Pi Pico! Getting started with C/C++ and Raspberry Pi Pico If your project includes external libraries, you have to open the files and save it to Raspberry Pi Pico as well. If you don’t do this, your script won’t run when connected to a power supply. The file that will run on boot should be saved as main.py. While you can have as many files saved as you want, to run them without a computer, Raspberry Pi Pico has to know where to start. The Foundation recommends Thonny ( Windows) as your IDE as it comes with everything you need (including Python 3.7), but you can also install the latest version of Python 3.x as the system-wide language installer in case you need some extras for your projects. To play with Raspberry Pi Pico on Windows, you will need 1 download. Getting started with MicroPhyton and Raspberry Pi Pico If you want a fast start – pick MicroPhyton, C/C++ is a mess right now to set up. This guide is for Windows devices, as this is how I do most of my tinkering with microcontrollers. As I found out in my 1.5h livestream, getting started can be messy if this is your 1st time holding the board in your hands.Įncouraged by others and my mistakes, I’m here to make it work for you in a couple of minutes so all the frustration is removed from the process. Instead, the boards come with 2 most popular programming languages in the maker’s space: C/C++ and MicroPython. It’s a microcontroller, so there is no Raspbian OS to play with. Raspberry Pi Pico is a completely new animal to Raspberry Pi lineup. I’m here to give you a quick guide on how to get started with Raspberry Pi Pico, so you don’t have to read 270 & 70 pages PDFs. Unfortunately, SDK for Raspberry Pi Pico is a bit of a mess right now. I promptly bought 3 of them (max per person at the time of purchase) just in case I will make some grave mistakes resulting in boards giving up their lives. Everyone got excited about Raspberry Pi Pico – the latest product from the Raspberry Pi Foundation. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Both sites have served in the past as the official observation location, the latter being the current official station. Of the two major airports located in Chicago, Midway Airport began observations in 1928, and O'Hare Airport began them in 1958. The National Weather Service office in Chicago has one of the longest periods of official weather records, dating back to 1870, though all the 18 weather records taken at 181 West Washington Street were lost in the Great Chicago Fire. Chicago's weather is influenced during all four seasons by the nearby presence of Lake Michigan. Annual precipitation in Chicago is moderate and relatively evenly distributed, the driest months being January and February and the wettest July and August. All four seasons are distinctly represented: Winters are cold and often see snow with below 0 Celsius temperatures and windchills, while summers are warm and humid with temperatures being hotter inland, spring and fall bring bouts of both cool and warm weather and fairly sunny skies.
